We drove to Moreton on Marsh and they were having their Tuesday market so it was quite crowded. With team work we secured a parking spot and had fun walking around the market and looking in the shops. We had been through here a lot but really hadn't stopped. We had lunch at the Marshmallow and I'm assuming that is a play on words. It was very good, then we shopped some more and decided since it was one of the prettiest days we have had, we would climb Broadway Tower today.
It couldn't have been a better day to be here. There wasn't a single cloud in the sky and after we climbed to the top, we could see forever...in fact I sang that to Kay all the way to Stow. On a Clear Day.....it was so cool when I turned from looking out one side and then saw a herd of deer down below. Kay said they were having a "spa day" because they were drinking then rolling around in the pond on the pasture below. It was very cool to see them running around and rolling in the water. We have met so many nice people here and it is mind boggling how many of them have said they have been to the states or even Atlanta. We met a couple from Wales who laughed when we said we were there yesterday. They were on a brief "holiday" as they put it. Another couple took our photo for us. It was a spiral staircase going up but there was a rail and a wall so I didn't have to look down. Kay got dizzy going down and we had to stop and look at the scenery to let her head catch up with her legs. We went through the gift shop and then headed on to Stow on the Wold.
Broadway Tower must be the place to go when out in your sports car... we saw a bunch the last time we were up here too. |
It's Elevenses...yay...another chance to eat! |
By the time we got to Stow it was five and they were closing everything up. We did get to go in one store that was open until 5:30 or half five as they say but we want to come back since they had many things that we cute to look at. We stopped at Tesco to get a couple things we needed and Kay went out to walk (my short legs do more steps than hers so she needed more steps) and I started the blog and kept an eye on dinner.
We are trying to keep up with laundry since the dryer here takes forever to dry anything. We have been hanging the clothes on a clothes rack or the radiators to dry then...it's faster and less hassle. It has been two and a half weeks now since we left and we haven't killed each other yet...well done us!
I'm impressed with the tower climb!! Quite lovely pics!
